TEX-BONE Formation Tempo Backfield Numbering

Val · October 9, 2020

The Tex-Bone is triple option for the 21st century

Combines traditional option with modern spread into a Texas-sized offense that leaves defenses scrambling to cover it all

–> Marriage of triple option and spread formations.

–> Traditional option schemes; non- traditional option alignments.

–> Spread defensive philosophies provide predictable alignments.

–> Unpredictable to defend – every play could be spread or option-based.

Running triple option out of shotgun eliminates the need to motion the running back into pitch postion

Drawback of flexbone is not knowing how the team you’re going to play is going to line up….

But spread formations are easy to predict how your opponent is going to line up

ECONOMY OF TECHNIQUES

The Tex-Bone has very few techniques to teach.  These few techniques apply to all the different plays.

Rules are the same no matter where they line up.

ADAPT OFFENSE TO YOUR PERSONNEL

So many coaches are stubborn and try to make their players fit the offense they run.  How many teams try to run No-Huddle, Spread Air Raid with a 5’8″ QB, receivers with 5 flat 40-times, and 190-lb linemen?

The TEX-BONE for the 21ST CENTURY is able match the genetics of your players to roles that they’re well suited for.  If a player is not great on the pitch, for example, we don’t ask him to be our pitch player.

You find the parts of the offense this offense match your players for that year.

It’s like the tool box in your garage.  There are tools that you don’t use every year.

TEX-BONE system is that tool box.  Every year you might use a different tool, but the SYSTEM never changes.
